Edinburgh Shield April '10
This years tournament was held
at Swan Hill.
Manager for the day and
organizer was again Duncan Duke and as usual every thing went like clockwork.
A mixed
weekend on magnificent tiff dwarf greens at Swan Hill Bowling Club.
Never
looked like it on Saturday.
However, on Sunday we beat the then previously unbeaten Waverley RSL who only
dropped the one game.
Although they won the Section we probably stopped them from winning the whole
State and the Shield.

Bruce Markby Memorial Trophy - March 2010
A great night of social bowls
took place at Hurstbridge to honour the memory of Bruce Markby, a keen and
willing bowler and administrator. The main purpose of the event is to pay
tribute to the man who did so much at both clubs. The event was played in
a social atmosphere, with Montmorency prevailing, all rinks up.
A special thank you to the
Hurstbridge club for putting on the event this year, and providing an excellent
venue, bowling surface and supper. Thanks to Ron Coe for organising the
Monty side, and to Val Markby for the summary and awarding of prizes at the end
of the night. A most enjoyable night!
Rink Results -
Val Markby - 5 shots up
Tom Hewitt - 5 shots up
Geoff Tulloch -
11 shots up
John Harford - 12 shots up.
