TO PERFECT ORTHODOX TECHNIQUES · If right handed pick up and hold bowl with left hand. (Vice versa left handers) Why tire bowling hand. (Not smart) · Stand behind mat to receive skips instructions. (Good habit) · Step on mat, check bias, place bowl in bowling hand. (Avoids wrong bias) · Maximize concentration. (Improves results) · Pre delivery check; includes stance on mat, 75% weight right foot, 25% weight left foot, feet facing correct line, knees slightly relaxed, shoulders square to aiming line, bowling arm to side of body, shoulder slightly forward of toes, correct grip, select green and pace required. (Perfects technique) · Deliver bowl with pendulum swing, eyes focused along aiming line to point bowl selected to go over, usually 1 to 5 metres from mat and do not look up for 3 to 4 seconds (Ensures correct green) · Stay down, (Helps line and length) · Remain on mat, watch bowl until it stops. (Evaluate your performance) · Deliver fewer short and/or narrow bowls.
